Each day for millions of children around the world, their capacity to love and be loved, to feel safe, to express joy, anger, fear, and pain while experiencing emotional and spiritual healing within the warm and nurturing embrace of a loving human family is shattered, sacrificed, and cast asunder. The daily traumatizing events that they are forced to endure rip the delicate human fabric of their precious spirits into shreds, and condemn them to a lifetime of mental and emotional problems. If untreated, they will pass these emotional wounds down to future generations like a tragic and sad river that flows endlessly in the dark night of the soul knowing no beginning and no end. This tender and fragile beauty of a child is the closest reflection of Divine Love mirrored by nature that we can witness, revere, and make sacred as human beings. And yet, this sweet and delicate childlike innocence is overwhelmed millions of times each day by a tidal wave of unimaginable neglect, shame, abandonment, and emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. By illuminating through the therapeutic process, each "little haunted self" that inhabits the soul of every "traumatized adult" and beginning to work through the "grief" that lurks within the "shadow" of our childhood pain, the heroic, inspiring, and heartfelt journey of healing can truly begin.

Eleven seminarsFinding the Gifts of the Shadow
Imagine a resume for your "shadow"--that unconscious part of us that holds all the stuff we deny, discount, disown, bury or pretend does not exist:

Vengeful, easily victimized, lazy, bad, untrustworthy. Excel at hopelessness and rage, expert on greed. Not creative. Never finish what I start. Stupid, a loner, damaged goods. Nurture murderous thoughts. Definitely unlovable.

No one likes to admit to a dark side--it can be a frightening and shocking experience to our self-image. We spend huge amounts of energy denying and repressing this unwanted inferior self.

What many of us don’t realize is that the shadow can be a helpful aspect of ourselves that holds the key to transformation--a loyal friend bearing the gifts of depth, integrity, vitality and wholeness--if we choose to meet it and love it. Read full story here.

Take Time to Grieve
In the aftermath of terrible tragedies, be they our own or a nation's, we cannot ignore or hurry grief.

Grief is a complex process that takes many forms. When a mass tragedy occurs, not only do we grieve for the victims, but we also re-grieve from previous losses we've suffered. And when a parent dies, we grieve the past that dies, too. When a spouse dies, the present disappears. A child who dies takes a parent's future with him.

Some say that the passage of time is the great emotional healer. In fact, it's what you do with that time that is important. Go to full story.
