A Note from Joyce
Gratitude is the feeling we experience when we are thankful and appreciative. We all have the choice to look at the good in our life and feel happy or see only the negative things in our life and be unhappy. For example, we take so much for granted: good health, family, friends, pets, blue skies, green grass, being able to pay our bills, TV, electric: the list goes on and on. I recommend starting a gratitude journal and add to it often. When you're feeling blue, pull out the list and read it. The more you concentrate on seeing the good in your life, the more things you will find to be grateful for, and the happier you will be.

Today's Quote
"Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections."

Practice Gratitude and Create Well-Being
Gratitude isn't a new idea; most spiritual practices and philosophies emphasize gratitude and compassion for others. But in recent years gratitude has shifted from being an idea to a concrete tool that people can use to become happier and healthier. This practice focuses on appreciating what others have done for you and de-emphasizes being angry or blaming others for your problems.

"When we develop a sense of appreciation for those around us and cultivate a sense of gratitude for life itself, we are relieved of the burden that comes with seeing ourselves as 'victims,'" writes Greg Krech in Gratitude, Grace and the Japanese Art of Self-Reflection. Read full story here.

Top 10 Signs of Strength
Flash the Morse Code signal SOS and help is sure to come your way. Master these 10 signs of strength (SOS) and the help may be in the form of improved relationships, greater joy and connection with yourself, better self care and enhanced communication. All in all, quite a life raft!

1. Respond instead of react. When we react, we give away our personal power.

2. Identify and learn from your judgments. Judgments are often a reflection of our own inner needs and values. Go to full story.
