Hello friends! The warm weather is quickly approaching, gearing us all up for summer which happens to be my favorite season of all. To many, summer represents the carefree and adventurous view of life that is nostalgic to our childhood and the last day of school before summer vacation. What lies ahead is unknown, unstructured and full of endless opportunities and possibilities. I strongly suggest to all of you, especially to those of you who are single, to try to look at this upcoming season with the same excitement you had as a child. I challenge you to try new things you have been putting off, get outside and enjoy the warm weather, take a trip to a place you have always wanted to go, or socialize in places and with people that are a little outside of your comfort zone. Most of all, walk into this summer with the childlike anticipation that you had as a child, with the excitement that made it hard to go to sleep at night and easy to pop out of bed in the early morning to get in as much as you could on your limited summer break. And remember, during those wonderful summers of your childhood, you were indeed single...and even so, life was wonderful!

Happily Single
by Elizabeth Savino

Being apart from your spouse can be a shattering experience at first. After one has grieved, adopting a positive attitude towards stepping into a new life can be exciting! By taking advantage of the freedom that comes with a single life, newly divorced individuals are able to create a life based on what they love. This opportunity is actually a blessing, for instead of giving love to another person in a relationship, a single person has the ability to give that love to themselves and cultivate and nurture who they are. In doing so, they not only are able to create their own life, they are able to learn to fill their own needs and become self sufficient people. Once this has developed, they are so much more whole as they enter into a new love relationship. Read full story here.

Beyond the Box
To help you explore the possibilities that may exist as you create your own future, try answering the following questions, encouraging you to think beyond the box.

  1. What is working best in your life right now?

  2. What one aspect of your life would you most like to change?

  3. What activity allows you to feel the childlike freedom of a spontaneous child?

  4. If you only had a limited time left on this earth, how would you spend your time? Who would you spend your time with?
