In This Issue
Hello friends! I hope you are all enjoying your summer and filling each day with experiences that enhance your life. With September in sight, I would like to let you know of some new group classes I have to offer. Please see below for information on them. In addition to in-person group classes, I am beginning a "Rebuilding After Divorce" and "Loving Choices" teleclass for those of you who are a distance away but would still like to participate. Another big change is that I am opening up all of my classes to both men and women. This should add a new dimension and perspective for sure! I have had so many women requesting this for men in their lives who could benefit from the content. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Who's Your Best Friend?
by Elizabeth Savino

If you think back to your childhood, can you recall being asked, "Who's your best friend?" As a young girl, I can remember the security that I gained from having a best friend to share my life with. Somehow I felt safer if I had someone in my life who I knew was on my side and would defend me as I ventured through my little life. To me, a best friend was someone who could fill my needs, understand who I was, support me, love me unconditionally and stay with me forever.

My best friends were always female until I entered my teen years. At this time, I learned, through some disappointments, the hurt that can come from being betrayed by other girls. Because of this, my young mind determined that my best friend must really be my boyfriend, that love relationship that would eventually become my spouse. In the years that followed, I lived into this belief until I met my husband who became, what I expected to be, my best friend for life. Read full story here.

Beyond the Box
To help you explore the possibilities that may exist as you create your own future, try answering the following questions, encouraging you to think beyond the box.

  1. What masks do you wear that prevent others from really knowing you? What is under those masks that you are afraid to expose?

  2. How different would your life be if you lived more based on "wants" as opposed to "shoulds?"

  3. What could you do right now that would help you love and accept yourself more?

  4. If you were told you had only six months to live, what changes would you make? Who would you want to spend time with? What would you want to do with your time?
