In This Issue -
Hello friends!

I am hopeful that you are all settling into your new fall schedules and your life is a bit more predictable and reliable. Though we sometimes dread it, there is something comforting in the ease of being able to anticipate what will be coming next, which a schedule can provide us with.

I am planning on trying something new in my newsletter and in my blog. I think it will be fun and rewarding to all of you women. I would like to devote a section of my newsletter and blog to victories and accomplishments of our women readers. To do so, I will need you to email me with any personal accomplishments you have recently achieved.

The reason for creating this is that I am truly inspired by so many of the women I work for and have had the privilege of knowing throughout my life. I would love to share their accomplishments with you, both to give them recognition, and also to inspire one another to reach for greater heights in our own lives. After all, let's face it, as women and moms, we sometimes get overlooked in the kudos department. So why not cheer each other on? This first time I will focus on some sports-related victories, as they are of special interest to me, but please send me anything great or small that you feel proud of accomplishing. Look below to see some recent women's victories!

Lastly, as many of you are aware, I am an avid runner. Running is truly a part of who I am. As I have shared in some of my articles, through running I have gained clarity of thought, a deep sense of my strength as a woman, empowerment which has carried over into my life and helped me endure adversity, deep friendships, the opportunity to travel to new places, excellent health––and pretty decent legs for a 45-year-old woman!

Because of the tremendous benefits I have experienced as a result of my dedication to running, I am passionate about helping other women begin to run and even race so they too can reap some of the same benefits in their own lives. I am currently studying to get certified as a trainer so I can work with women specifically for running. Please look for information in the upcoming months for groups and individual running coaching that will be offered. Also, I encourage you to email me any suggestions that you might personally like so I can best help you to reach some new running goals of your own.

Have a great month!

Take Time to Rejuvenate
by Elizabeth Savino

"A woman must come of age herself. She must find her true center alone. She must become whole."
~Anne Morrow Lindbergh

As a middle-aged woman and single mother of two teenage daughters, I am keenly aware of the hectic pace life can place before us on many days. Between work, activity schedules, school work, everyday household chores, the drama of teenage girls' lives, keeping up with two dogs, maintaining relationships with the significant people in my life, and all of the other day-to-day responsibilities that I face each morning when I wake up at 5:30 AM, I will be the first to admit, sometimes when the conditions are right, a perfect storm can occur. These are days when life stressors all seem to hit at once and my body’s overload switch begins to scream, "ENOUGH!" Times like these are taxing to my body and soul and also to those around me who feel as though they are not quite getting what they need from me despite my futile attempts to please everyone and meet the needs of others, often at the expense of my own. Read full story here.

Beyond the Box
To help you explore the possibilities that may exist as you create your own future, try answering the following questions, encouraging you to think beyond the box.

  1. What are your top five priorities in life? How much time do you spend on each?

  2. What gift could you give yourself today that would make you feel nurtured?

  3. How have you been blessed in your life?

  4. What are your natural gifts? Are you using them in your everyday life?

  5. How present are you to those people who you love when you have the gift of being with them?
